Eren Yeager (エレン・イェーガー Eren Yēgā, often romanised as Eren Jäger/Eren Jaeger) is the main protagonist of Attack on Titan. He is the son of Grisha and the late Kalura Yeager. He was born in the Shiganshina District, a town located on the southern part the outermost Wall, which was destroyed by the Titans. His best friends are his childhood companion Armin Arlert, and his adopted sister, Mikasa Ackerman.
He holds a personal vendetta against all Titans, and his dream is to purge them from the Earth and explore the world beyond the Walls. He graduated as one of the top five soldiers of 104th Trainee Squad and currently serves as a member of the Survey Corps. He is later discovered to be a Titan Shifter, and uses his abilities to aid in Humanity's fight against the rule of the Titans. He is also known as "The Coordinate" to the Titan Shifters that infiltrated the walls.
